Tony Sarg: Puppeteer in America 1915-1942

Tony Sarg, considered one of the father's of modern puppet theatre in North America, was a well-known illustrator, designer and puppeteer. For many years his troupes criss-crossed the continent with elaborate marionette shows. His high standards and willingness to shre the backstage 'secrets' were revolutionary and many of his employees went on to form their own troupes. Tamara Hunt's study of Sarg and his puppetry examines his professional life and production methods.
